Our Communities
Colloquy Communities creates
a welcoming ethos of being and learning together.
Who can participate?
Our communities (small group meetings) are open for adult participants from anywhere; however, most participants are either from or living in Europe, but participation is open to all who are interested in connecting in meaningful conversation around relevant life topics for mental health and leadership. These communities are providing quality learning opportunities to engage with diverse people and perspectives through informal settings.
Who can participate with the Colloquy Counseling Center?
The Colloquy Counseling Center is available to serve clients of all ages. We have counselors who specialize in different areas and work with various ages, from children to adolescents to adults. If you are interested in scheduling a consultation to determine if our counseling center is a good fit for you, then please fill out a contact form.
Who can participate with the Colloquy Leadership School for Youth?
The Colloquy Leadership School for Youth is open to all students from any culture. Parents can register their child or adolescent for a single trimester or for an entire year (3 trimesters). For more information about the program, see the Leadership School link.
What are the topics for the communities?
Colloquy Communities offers a wide variety of practical topics to learn about mental health and leadership. Colloquy sessions are led by a qualified team of professionals who present relevant content and facilitate discussion questions for the group. For more information about the program, view our calendar or opportunities tab. Participants can choose which topics interest them and participate flexibly in those sessions. This means they can participate as much or as little as they desire (even without their video).
When do the communities meet?
This can vary, but usually our meetings either occur during the middle of week or sometimes on a Sunday. Check our calendar for the community you are interested in joining for more specifics.
How to participate?
Call, email, or find us on social media expressing your interest to participate, and one of our leaders will be in touch with you.
Does it cost something to participate?
Colloquy is a non-profit organization that functions in a variety of ways.
The Colloquy Counseling Center is a non-profit referral association that connects individual clients with mental health professionals and leadership coaches for affordable counseling options for expats and locals. Standard fees for individual sessions are 50 euros.
Colloquy Communities offers live online workshops for mental health and leadership through psychological education and research by our facilitators. The standard fees for this sessions are 10 euros for a single session or 100 euros for a yearly membership, which includes access to all live group seminars, any resources provided, and three consultations with a Colloquy professional.
The Colloquy Leadership School for Youth is a three-trimester social and emotional leadership program that includes 6 online sessions per trimester (50 euros per trimester) and 18 sessions for the full program (150 euros).
What are the communities?
Colloquy Communities include a variety of relevant and quality topics over a one-month period. Participants can choose which topics interest them and participate flexibly in those sessions. This means they can participate as much or as little as they desire (even without their video).
How many people meet in the communities?
Depending on the specific community, the number of people who join usually ranges from 4-12 most of the time. Feel free to join without video and without participating to try it out.
When do the communities meet?
Depending on the communities, meetings generally are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Sundays. Check the community you are interested in joining for more specifics.
Are all Colloquy meetings in English?
Community meetings are held in English; however, translation services have been used for interested participants. Most counseling sessions are in English, but select counselors can also offer mental health counseling in the following languages: Farsi, Polish, Greek, Bulgarian, and French.
Are all meetings online or are some in-person?
Depending on the location of community participants, in-person “hybrid” gatherings are organized for informal connection in face-to-face ways. On some occasions, community meetings may take place with some members being together in-person while others are joining online. The first in-person retreat for Colloquy Communities was in Thessaloniki, Greece, in August, 2024. Stay tuned for more brief weekend retreats in a city near you.
